This is a very rare and unusual small species of Ornithogalum. It has thick evergreen succulent leaves arranged in a fan.  It is a slow growing but worthwhile species to grow.

Plant Size: Seed-grown plants about 4 years old are offered, the bulbs are 1,5 to 2 cm in diameter.

About Ornithogalum

Ornithogalum is a genus of bulbous plants in the Hyacinth family. Several species are known from Summer and Winter rainfall areas of Southern Africa. They are mainly found in South Africa, but some species are known or extends into Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Namibia


Caring for your Ornithogalum

Pot: Ornithogalum is well suited to pot culture. A smaller pot is ideal.

Soil: The plants prefer a well-drained sandy soil with some organic matter.

Light: The plants prefer to grow in bright light conditions

Water: Even though this species is drought hardy, they enjoy weekly watering or every second week, reduced at the coldest times of the year.
