A lovely specimen displaying the crystal structure well. Epidote is a beautiful dark green mineral, named along ago in 1801 by Rene Just Haüy. The name is derived from the Greek word, “epidosis”, meaning “to increase”, in allusion to the crystal characteristic of one longer side at the base of the prism. Morocco is known for finding good Epidote crystal specimens.
