The Crassulaceae family, more commonly knows as Stonecrops or as Plakkies in Afrikaans. It is a large family with about 34 genera and 1400 species that makes up this group of flowering, succulent-leaved plants. The members of this family is known mainly from Africa and the Americas. Some of the well known genera include Echeveria, Crassula, Cotyledon, Sedum and Sempervivum.
