Adromischus belongs to the Crassulaceae family, it is a small sized genus with about 28 recognised species.

It is a genus of mostly small leaf succulents with an immense variation found in the species regarding their leaf size, shape, markings and colouration. It is predominantly found in the Northern Cape, Western Cape and Eastern Cape provinces, but is also known from the KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga, Gauteng and Limpopo provinces.
